The SID1132K is a Power Integrations SCALE-iDriver single-channel, galvanically isolated IGBT and MOSFET gate driver IC rated up to 1200 V with a peak output current of 2.5 A, in the compact eSOP-R16B surface-mount package. It is the lowest-current member of the SCALE-iDriver family, aimed at small and medium IGBT modules where a modest gate current is sufficient and cost and board space are the priority. Reinforced galvanic isolation is provided by Power Integrations' FluxLink solid-insulator technology, so the driver needs no optocoupler and its timing is stable and free of the aging that affects optocouplers. A single unipolar insulated supply generates the stable positive and negative gate voltages, which simplifies the power architecture, and the integrated protection includes short-circuit detection with advanced soft shutdown and primary-side and secondary-side undervoltage lockout. Rail-to-rail output with temperature- and process-compensated impedance keeps the driver safe in harsh conditions. Typical applications include general-purpose drives, small inverters, power supplies and auxiliary converters where a compact isolated gate driver is needed.
